New BM 1 and fully modernized off-coater for Metsä Board Husum

In 2016, Metsä Board started up at its Husum mill a new OptiConcept M board machine supplied by Valmet. The mill has a modern off-machine coating section, which increases flexibility. The folding boxboard produced is targeted especially at the Americas and global food service markets. Thanks to the new BM 1, Metsä Board’s paperboard capacity is over 2 million tonnes per year.

OptiConcept M folding boxboard (FBB) line. The new board machine features the latest modular design of headboxes, forming section and press section, as well as a rebuild of the off-machine coater, winder and the roll wrapping line. The wet end area of the machine is based on innovative OptiConcept M frame construction without the need for cantilever beams for fabric changes. |
