APP is scaling up for the future with the investment in a huge new paper manufacturing complex in Rudong, China. The mill aims to realize the benefits of scale by taking advantage of digitalization, future-oriented design and energy-efficient technology. 20 Valmet tissue machines were delivered and successfully started.
The Advantage™ ViscoNip® press and ReDry™ rebuilds at Sofidel’s tissue mills demonstrate benefits related to improved product quality, increased flexibility and machine runnability. In line with their multi-option strategy for reducing environmental footprint they also contribute to lower energy consumption.
Pindo Deli-Perawang mill has 23 tissue machines in operation, it produces over 800k tonnes per year. Perawang mill was looking for a yankee metallising supplier who has a proven track record coupled with high quality standards and consistent results.
The mill was not able to run the tissue and the paper machine at design speed due to vibrations. The issues were resolved successfully and paved the way for a performance agreement to improve production and efficiency improvement of the two machines.
OKI Pulp and Paper Mills is a global provider of tissue, paper and board technology and services for heavy industries. They turned to Valmet as they struggled with white spots (broke flakes) from tissue broke in their tissue grades.
Jeesr Industries operates Morocco’s largest tissue line, with a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year. To further improve productivity, it was decided to target a machine speed increase from 1,800 m/min to 1,900 m/min. Jeesr and Valmet initiated the project just before the global pandemic Covid-19 closed borders, making it impossible for Valmet’s experts to travel to the site. Projects like this are complex, requiring thorough planning. When operating remotely, modern digital tools and communicatio...
APP Group in China has successfully started up the first two of their 18 Valmet IntelliTissue 1600 machines at the Rudong Mill in Jiangsu. Thanks to successful cooperation in the past, (with former PMP Group, now part of Valmet), APP decided to select Valmet as supplier for all the 18 IntelliTissue 1600 machines to the paper mill.
“Our philosophy is to go for low energy consumption and lowest possible emissions to air and water. The Advantage DCT technology is the most efficient and best choice for the grades we will produce. With this new tissue line, we expect to produce the best tissue quality combined with the lowest energy consumption” says Dario Palma y Meza Espinoza, Operational Director, Papel San Francisco.
