About the program

Valmet Project Professional Trainee Program is targeted for students who want to grow their knowledge of international project management in a practical environment alongside their studies. Trainees work in Valmet project departments in different business lines. If you are interested in a dynamic career in international project execution, this is the trainee program you shouldn’t miss. During the program you get to work as e.g., Junior Planner, Project Coordinator or Development Engineer.

The program duration is five months and the trainee positions are in Jyväskylä, Järvenpää, Raisio, Tampere, Vantaa or Ulvila.

During this program you are offered

  • One month paid orientation phase with 10-20 hours of trainings, group work and more
  • Four months paid traineeship with 37,5 hours of working time per week
  • Nominated buddy to support you both with practical questions and professional topics
  • Nominated coach who will follow-up and support your traineeship experience
  • Interesting junior roles as part of international project teams
  • Network of similar minded students
  • Lots of fun!

What we are expecting from you

  • Suitable studies in University or University of Applied Sciences focused on automation engineering, industrial business, mechanical engineering or similar
    Commitment to work minimum 10 hours per week during orientation phase
  • Minimum of three years of completed studies
  • Earlier experience or studies in project management is appreciated
  • Good collaboration and communication skills, passion, and courage to learn new, and ability to innovate and to challenge existing ways of work

After the program

After the program there are different options to continue working at Valmet, for example as a summer trainee, thesis worker, fixed term or permanent worker depending on state of your studies, life situation and Valmet’s business needs.
