Privacy notice - Spotlight

All HSE events such as incidents with work-related injury or illness, environmental, fire/explosion, premises security, property damage and/or product safety consequences, as well as related near misses and observations are reported and saved in Spotlight. All CI events such as incidents (also called non-conformities), observations and improvement ideas related to products, services and processes are also reported and saved in Spotlight. Spotlight is used globally in Valmet, covering all business lines, areas, countries and Valmet employees as well as partners. With the help of reporting and investigating can similar incidents be prevented in the future.

All the data is controlled by Valmet Oyj. The processing helps Valmet to fulfil its many legal obligations concerning safety at the workplace including obligations in “Workers’ Compensation Act, 459/2015” and “Occupational Safety and Health Act, 738/2002” in Finland as well as other national laws implementing the Directive 89/391/EEC “on the introduction of measures to encourage improvements in the safety and health of workers at work”. The legal basis for processing quality events is based on Valmet’s legitimate interests to develop its business processes. The data may be accessed by Valmet personnel according to their job roles, as well as data processors Valmet has contracted for IT processing. The data will be accessed by Valmet personnel globally. EU Model Clauses are used as appropriate safeguards for the access from outside of the EEA.

By default, the data will be retained for 40 years. We will support the applicable data subject’s rights, including the right of access to, rectification of, erasure of personal data, restriction of processing concerning the data subject and the right to object to processing. The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (data protection authority).
