We are here for you – Valmet Spare Parts
Dec 5, 2024
Having Valmet’s spare parts delivered to your mill is about a lot more than a box of goodies that keep your equipment running. The package also includes decades of experience and built-in expertise, wrapped in reliability and convenience.
Valmet offers high-quality spare parts with the latest technology updates for its customers in the pulp, board and paper, tissue, energy and marine industries. Valmet’s spare parts expertise covers the production lines’ entire lifecycle, from start-up to daily maintenance needs and from shutdowns to extensive rebuilds.
“Spare parts are not usually at the top of anyone’s shopping list – until something unexpected happens, and the production line needs to be stopped. For such situations, we offer a 24/7 emergency service, but our real mission is to proactively ensure that our customers have the right parts in the right place, when they need them, and at every stage of their production line’s lifecycle,” says Juuso Eskola, Director, Spare Parts at Valmet.
Reliable and convenient
Valmet is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for many legacy brands in its customer industries, and the spare parts offering covers all the machines manufactured by Valmet and its various predecessors. In addition to spare parts, Valmet offers a range of services, including spare parts criticality analysis, shutdown planning services, eCommerce solutions, and asset management planning.
Valmet Spare Parts. Reliable. Conveniently.
“Thanks to our long corporate history rooted in many well-known legacy brands, we can reliably deliver original parts to a large installed base around the world. Within Valmet, we also have hands-on experience and strong technical skills in production line design, operation, and maintenance processes, and we can utilize that expertise in the variety of services we provide,” Eskola says.
Eskola points out that spare parts management can be a huge logistical challenge, and that customers appreciate convenience and reliability above everything else.
“Today, I’m proud to say that we’re the world’s only one-stop shop for spare parts for Valmet installed base. We deliver a vast selection of commercial parts in addition to our own design parts. For our customers, this means simplified supplier management and lower total purchasing costs,” he says.

Sustainability drives development
Valmet is strongly committed to sustainability and decreasing the environmental footprint of its own and its customers’ operations. Valmet’s Spare Parts Technology Unit sees the improvement potential in manufacturing and logistics, as well as in developing new, even more sustainable products.
“A large portion of our hundreds of daily deliveries is distributed from Europe, meaning that our environmental footprint can be significantly decreased by positioning the manufacturing closer to our customers. We’re also currently developing capabilities of utilizing 3D printing in spare parts manufacturing. In addition to being a sustainable production method as such, this will increase our manufacturing flexibility and accelerate our product development,” Eskola explains.
Unified global operations
Valmet employs over 300 spare parts experts and serves its spare parts customers through more than 30 service centers and several logistics centers around the world. Since 2017, Valmet has offered an internal training program called the Spare Parts Academy. This has already given the opportunity for professional growth to several hundred Valmeteers.
“Our ambition is to offer a unique customer experience, regardless of the customer’s location. To do this, we’ve implemented a unified global operation model and follow common customer service standards wherever we operate,” Eskola says.
“However, we believe that despite thinking globally, we need to act locally – and we therefore continuously strive to develop our employees’ competencies in all our operating areas across the globe. By offering personal service in the customer’s own language within the same time zone, we can offer a customer experience that meets or even exceeds all the expectations. No matter what we deliver and how fast, it’s always people who make the biggest difference,” he concludes.
