Jan 10, 2023
Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA Automation System to centrally run three waste-to-energy (WtE) plants in Sungnam City, Korea. The system will increase efficiency, optimize operating conditions, lower emissions and extend plant life cycle at the Pangyo waste incinerator as well as at the Sangdaewon waste and sludge incinerators, all owned by Sungnam City and run by its Resource Recirculation Division.
The order is included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2022. The system was delivered in December 2022. The order was placed by Valmet’s local partner PoinEX who has been working with Valmet for ten years on the WtE and water treatment market in Korea.
“Valmet is a proven supplier for the waste-to-energy automation system market globally. They have earlier replaced automation at another Sungnam plant successfully,” says Geunil Lim, President, PoinEX.
“Our experience in this project means reduced risks for the customer. The performance data built on our developed automation platform was convincing,” says Wanmo Yoon, Sales Manager, Korea, Energy & Process Systems, Automation Systems Business Line, Valmet.
