Valmet Oyj press release, March 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EET
Valmet's new premises in Tikkurila, Vantaa, have been completed. Nearly 700 Valmet employees in Finland, mainly from Järvenpää and partly from Vantaa's Hakkila office, have moved into the new premises in early spring. The office building is located close to the Tikkurila station at Lauri Korpisen katu 9, and the area of the premises rented from Sponda Plc is approximately 13,000 square meters. Valmet’s head office is in Keilaniemi, Espoo.
"Valmet has over 225 years of industrial history and a strong track record of continuous improvement and renewal in various ways. The new premises in Tikkurila mark a new era in Valmet's operations in Finland. The modern facilities and good transport connections make the Tikkurila building an important meeting place for us, both internally and with our customers," says Aki Niemi, Head of the Services business line, Valmet.
"Building a new facility and moving is always a massive effort, and I would like to thank the Valmet employees who moved to the new building, the Valmet project team, and our partners for the good cooperation during the project. We welcome Valmet employees from Finland and other countries, our customers, and partners to visit the new premises," continues Teemu Heikkinen, who is the local manager of the Tikkurila building and works in the Paper business line at Valmet.
Modern office building in the heart of Tikkurila
The daily life of those working in the Tikkurila office is supported by the building's diverse services, such as a lunch restaurant, a gym, a large bicycle parking area with adjacent social facilities, and a parking garage with electric car charging points. The area offers Valmet employees excellent public transport connections and the services of the Dixi shopping center. In the design of the building, the focus has been on the flexibility of the spaces, the brightness of the work areas, and high indoor air quality.
The new property has an energy efficiency class A and a platinum-level LEED environmental certification. Solar panels that produce renewable energy have been installed on the roof of the building, and the yard has been planted with vegetation that supports biodiversity. The property’s energy efficiency is also improved by using a geothermal heating system.
