Fiberboard

Fiberboard is a type of engineered wood product that is typically made out of wood fibers. Types of fiberboard include low-density fiberboard (LDF), medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and hardboard (high-density fiberboard, HDF). They are formed by breaking down e.g wood fibers in a Defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. Typical products are, insulation boards, furniture, shelving, laminate flooring, decorative molding.

The key to successful fiberboard production lies in the utilization of homogenous fiber material with minimal shives and a low fines content. Achieving this level of quality ensures that the fiberboard produced is consistent, durable, and meets the high standards demanded by the market.

Valmet to supply an EVO 64 Defibrator System to S. Kijchai Enterprise PCL

Valmet will deliver an EVO 64 Defibrator system to S. Kijchai Enterprise PCL in Thailand. This delivery will be the 13th MDF line to be supplied by Valmet to Thailand.

Valmet’s EVO 64 Defibrator and ChipWash systems are started up and running successfully in Vietnam

On June 3, Vietnamese company Mekong produced the first MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) at its site in Cam Khe District, Phu Tho Province. The new MDF plant was supplied by Siempelkamp, which is one of Valmet’s cooperation partners and the number one continuous press supplier in the world. Valmet delivered an EVO 64 defibrator system and chip wash system, with a production capacity of 45 ton/hour.
