Optimized and stable operation with advanced bale weight control

By utilizing the data collected from the scale by the Bale press, optimized operation can be achieved. The data is fed back in the process, adjusting settings to improve performance, step by step all the way back to the headbox. With this, all bales are kept with the same width, even during recirculation of grades change. The data is also used to adjust the profile to keep all bales with the same weight, compensating moisture differences caused by felts or other process variations.

BioCMPC project - A major upgrade of Guaíba mill’s line 2

CMPC acquired the Guaíba mill, located in southern Brazil in the Rio Grande do Sul state, in December 2009. The first line was originally built in 1972, and a second production line, Guaíba 2, started up in 2015. In 2021, CMPC decided to significantly invest in upgrading their operations.

LD Celulose’s pulp drying machine ran for over 270 days without any web breaks. This achievement marks a new milestone in 2023 for textile pulp. Since its start-up, the machine has demonstrated a very stable runnability.

SCA Ortviken pulp mill - CTMP project

The demand for newsprint and magazine paper in the world has decreased and in order to adapt to this change, SCA decided to shut down the production of newsprint and LWC at the Ortviken mill in Sweden and focus on producing CTMP pulp instead.
