Metso strengthens its position as a leading flow control supplier by establishing new valve service centers in Europe

Metso opens new service centers in Germany and France to support the company's strategy to grow its valve and field device service business and to strengthen its service capabilities for the petrochemical, energy, oil & gas, and pulp & paper industries. Since 2012, Metso has established ten new valve service centers around the world. By the end of 2014, the total number of Metso valve and field device service centers will exceed 40.

Mr. Urs Pennanen (M.Sc., Industrial Management) has been appointed Senior Vice President, Customer and Marketing Operations as of October 1, 2014. The new organization, headed by Pennanen, supports Metso's transformation into a focused, market-driven company working in close cooperation with customers. The Customer and Marketing Operations organization owns and drives sales development as well as marketing and communications in Metso, working closely with the business and market areas.

Metso continues to expand its industry-leading global service center network by opening mining service centers in Peru and Mexico. The investments, worth in total EUR 6 million,  are in line with Metso's long-term strategy to strengthen its local services presence close to its customers. Metso already serves its mining and construction customers from over 50 service centers around the world. A new center is also in the process of being built in Mesa, Arizona, United States  and in Labrador City in Canada.
