Multivariable control for machine direction
The Valmet IQ MD Optimizer integrates fast responding wet end process controls and dry end feedback controls to achieve a higher level of paper quality control performance. Paper process variability is reduced before the wet sheet is formed. You can perform faster startups and grade changes, reduce dryer breaks and get better runnability with stable short circulation improving uniformity of the wet sheet.
The control can be configured step-by-step from simple basis weight, feedforward weight and moisture control applications to more complex ash and retention control applications. Full scope Valmet IQ MD Optimizer can simultaneously manage the thick stock flow, filler flows, retention chemical flows and steam pressures to achieve smoother MD properties during steady-state, speed changes, and process upsets.
