Could you describe your company in few sentences?

Turcomp Engineering Services Sdn. Bhd., a company with Bumiputera status, was established in 1992 in Labuan, Malaysia. The name 'Turcomp' denotes TURbine & COMPressor, which reflects its initial business focus on providing maintenance services for rotating equipment in process and power plants in the vicinity of Labuan. Since then, Turcomp has evolved into an integrated services and solutions provider, offering in-depth expertise in product sourcing, engineering contracting, and technical services for the oil and gas and power industries throughout Malaysia

Can you tell us briefly about your history of cooperation with Valmet?

We have been working with Valmet (formerly known as Metso and Neles) since 2006. Valmet has been our primary automation solution provider as our business has diversified.

Can you give us a good example of one of your latest customer success cases?

We secured an EPCIC contract for a Control Valve Replacement Project in collaboration with Valmet at one of the largest refinery plants in Malaysia. This rejuvenation package involves replacing 138 control valve tags from another manufacturer with our brand.

What was the original challenge they had? Why did they end up choosing Valmet’s flow control solutions?

Since this project requires a complete solution, the customer prefers to award it to a committed company that offers high-quality engineering products and has an experienced on-site team. Additionally, they need strong justification for switching to a new brand, along with engineering design and construction that guarantee performance.

What are the results? How did the solutions help them?

We bundled this package with Valmet PlantTriage as a key value-added feature among the bidders. So far, this project is ongoing, and the customers are satisfied.

How would you describe the collaboration between you and Valmet?

We have partnered with Valmet in the industry for almost 20 years. Our businesses have grown together, thanks to the excellent support and quality assurance from Valmet. Our collaboration has also instilled confidence in our largest client, who has signed a Global Frame Agreement with Turcomp and Valmet for all future projects.

As you are our Authorized Service Partner, what are the most common service projects?  How do you ensure quality and reliability of service you provide on behalf of Valmet?

The most common service projects we handle include the installation and commissioning of flow control valves, ongoing maintenance and repairs during plant turnaround and shutdown, as well as upgrades to improve the performance and efficiency of existing systems. Moreover, we provide training and technical support to our clients to help them get the most out of Valmet’s products.

To ensure the quality and reliability of the services we provide, we rely on our team of highly skilled Technicians and Engineers who undergoes hands-on training under Valmet’s ASP program as certified authorized service personnel. We only use genuine Valmet parts for repairs and replacements, ensuring that all components meet the manufacturer’s standards. Quality control process including detailed inspections and testing before and after every service to ensure the products are within the acceptance standards.

Additionally, we actively engage with our customers to gather feedback, which helps us continuously improve our servicing works. Our close collaboration with Valmet ensures that we are aligned with their procedures and receive the necessary technical support when needed, guaranteeing the highest standards of service and reliability.
