Description
Intro to Process Gas Chromatography Technology Course Code OPTIA1 – 3 Days – 24 hours Audience This course introduces the student to chromatographic technology and theory as well as to the hardware associated with process gas chromatography. The course can also be taught at a customer site and customized to meet actual onsite training needs. Recommended pre-requisite for more advanced level courses.
Objective
Objectives Upon completion of this course, the technician competencies should include: 1. Identify the sample valves, column valves and column detectors used to develop the chromatography in a Process Gas Chromatograph. 2. Repair a Model 11 and Model 50 valve. 3. Use the chromatograms and oven plumbing diagram to determine column valve time. 4. Understand the basic integrate techniques and baseline correction used in online chromatography. 5. Identify common sample system parts and sub- systems in gas and liquid sample systems. Note: The course provides the background theory on process gas chromatography prerequisite for the Maxum Operation GCP L1 course. In the next level course, the Maxum Operation GCP Level 1, the technicians will setup flows, valve times, integration and calibration.
Audience
This class is intended for individuals who need a basic understanding of process gas chromatography. The course will provide the technician with the practical knowledge in process gas chromatography necessary for the operation of Process Gas Chromatographs, taught in advanced level courses.
