Successful IntelliJet V hydraulic headboxes start-up at Shindaeyang Banwol mill in Korea

The start-up was accomplished according to plan and was executed in a smooth way thanks to high quality technology and fruitful cooperation between Shindaeyang’s and Valmet’s professional teams.

The purpose of the investment was to improve the cross-direction basis weight profile, improve overall paper quality and increase the speed. The guaranteed numbers were achieved and in some cases exceeded already the first day after start-up. 

 Since installation, we've witnessed a significant enhancement in quality and a boost in productivity. Notably, our customers have been providing highly positive feedback on the product outputs. Various equipment from different manufacturers, including Valmet, have been utilized across our sites. Opting for Valmet Headbox for PM1 and PM2 at Banwol proved to be a very good decision, primarily due to its superior performance, reliability, and the excellent support we received from Valmet during the entire process. Valmet’s delivery included two headboxes with dilution system to the existing board machines BM1 (3330 mm width at reel and with an operating speed of 600 m/min) and BM2 (4040 mm width at reel and 650 m/min operating speed) at the Shindaeyang Paper Co., Ltd. at Banwol mill in Korea. 

The delivery also includes Valmet IQ Quality Control System, Valmet IQ Dilution Profiler, thermal compensation system, horizontal attenuator, spare parts, and supervision services.
