“Our customers in the board, paper, tissue, and pulp industries will also in the future benefit from press felts that respond to the highest quality and performance demands, and which are produced in the most modern, efficient, and sustainable press felt facility within the industry. The investment wouldn’t have been possible without the trust and cooperation with our customers, and the seamless teamwork within Valmet,” says Aki Niemi, Business Line President, Services at Valmet.
New machinery guarantees meeting the customer expectations also in the future
The new machinery was inaugurated in connection with the Valmet Clothing Days customer seminar on March 14, 2025.
“Today we celebrate a milestone on a journey that started several years ago. Investing in new machinery is not just about increasing the capacity of our production facility – it's about our will to strive forward: about developing new, more sustainable products, about improving our productivity and climate performance, and, most of all, meeting the customer expectations related to our products every day,” says Sami Remmi, Vice President, Fabrics business unit, Services at Valmet.
The investment project was launched in 2022 and included a new weaving loom, a new pre-needling line, a new needling machine, and a new heat-setting machine. The weaving loom has been operating for a couple of months, and the rest of the machinery will be commissioned gradually during 2025.
