Metso Paper extends its web handling family with a new device

Runtech Systems Ltd. has granted the exclusive selling rights of its Air Curtain device to Metso Paper, Inc. as of June 11, 2001. Metso Paper will be responsible for the product’s worldwide distribution and after sales service.

The device, now renamed ReleaseEQ, improves web handling from the center roll onwards. It does this by reducing the pressure difference between the bottom and top side of the sheet, which results in less need for draw. Thanks to this, ReleaseEQ enables speed increases and reduces paper porosity. In addition, it can be used to adjust the cross direction tension profile. The device is equipped with a fully automated cleaning system with connections to break automatics.

ReleaseEQ supplements Metso Paper's RunMax PR modernization package, which is designed to improve runnability through the press section by means of several solutions and improvements to machine geometry.
