Metso Paper Service's Logistics Center for Europe to be located in Jyväskylä, Finland

According to the decision of Metso Paper Executive Board on January 13, 2004, Metso Paper's Logistics Center supplying spare parts to European customers will be located in Jyväskylä. The present spare part supply functions in Järvenpää, Valkeakoski, Pori and Raisio will gradually be transferred to Jyväskylä during 2004. The consequences on the personnel will only be slight and the discussions on this have already been started. Part of the personnel will transfer to other duties in their home locations, and each of them will be offered an option to transfer to Jyväskylä.

The Logistics Center in Jyväskylä will employ approximately 30 persons. The center will serve both Finnish and other European customers and will be part of Metso Paper's global logistics network. The company has corresponding centers in Beloit, WI, for North America; in Sorocaba, Brazil, for South America; and in Shanghai, China, for Asia, inaugurated at the end of 2003.
