Metso Paper to supply press section at Glatfelter Spring Grove, USA

Glatfelter has placed an order with Metso Paper for a shoe press for their PM7 fine paper machine at their mill in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania.

The rebuild will include a new press section with shoe press in the second nip. Third press will be a variable crown configuration.

Other equipment to be supplied by Metso Paper includes: dryer section modifications; mechanical drive equipment; air system ventilation equipment; press and dryer section runnability components including PressNip, Press Run, and UnoRun; pocket ventilation; hood modifications; and steam and condensate modifications.

Start up of the rebuilt machine is scheduled for mid-2006.
