Metso Paper to supply yet another papermaking line to Hankuk Paper in South Korea

Metso Paper will supply a complete new production line for fine paper to Hankuk Paper, Onsan mill in South Korea. The line will be the third one delivered by Metso Paper to the same mill and it will be started up at the end of 2005. The value of the order is not disclosed.

The delivery will include a complete paper making line PM 4 equipped with a metsoDNA machine control system supplied by Metso Automation. The paper machine will feature the latest OptiConcept technology, comprising e.g. OptiFlo headbox, OptiFormer wire section, OptiPress press section, and OptiHard calender. Also included are SymRun/SymDry dryer section, ValSizer, ValReel, air systems as well as auxiliary equipment. The web width at the reel is 5.2 m and the design speed 1,200 m/min. The capacity will be 200,000 tons/year.

Hankuk Paper is the leading paper company in Korea. Since its founding in 1958, the company has been a pioneer in the Korean paper industry, producing a variety of woodfree printing and writing papers, always employing the latest technology. After the start-up of the new production line in 2005, the company will have a total capacity of 560,000 tons annually.
