Metso-supplied paper machine starts up successfully at Anhui Shanying Paper in China

The Metso Paper -supplied Anhui Shanying Paper Industry Co. Ltd’s PM 2 successfully came on stream on October 8, 2007 in the City of Maanshan in Anhui Province, China.

The order comprised a complete OptiConcept paper machine from headbox to reel, including various auxiliary equipment. A comprehensive machine automation and quality control system package as well as the process control system for the paper machine and the pulping line were supplied by Metso Automation. The machine has a wire width of 6,050 mm and a design speed of 1 600 m/min.

The startup went smoothly and the paper produced was saleable right from the beginning. Mr. Lu Zhao Jin, Vice General Manager, said: “Co-operation with Metso was outstanding, and we are very pleased with the paper quality.”

Anhui Shanying Paper Industry Co. Ltd. is located in the City of Maanshan in Anhui Province, some 300 km west of Shanghai. The company was established in 1957 and is now the biggest paper and board producer in Anhui Province, with an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes of kraftliner.
