Metso-supplied Propapier board machine performs outstandingly

One of the fastest containerboard machines in the world, PM 1 at Propapier GmbH in Burg, Germany, continues excellent performance. The machine set a new speed record by running 1,366 m/min with 100 g/m2 fluting on January 9th, 2008. The 6,300 mm wide PM 1 started up in 2000, and it produces testliner and fluting from 100 % recycled fiber in the basis weight range of 90 – 230 g/m2.

Mr. Peter Resvanis, Production Manager of Propapier GmbH, is very pleased with the outstanding result. Over the years, the PM 1 performance and quality has been systematically optimized by Metso Paper together with Propapier GmbH. As a result, the machine has clearly exceeded its dimensioned production and set speed records with superior efficiency. The target of the latest co-operation agreement signed in July 2007 is to further improve the machine performance.
