Metso to rebuild Dong Il Paper’s containerboard machine with SymBelt shoe press

Metso will rebuild the PM 1 containerboard machine at the Ansan mill of Dong Il Paper Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in South Korea. The start-up of the rebuilt 4.1-m-wide containerboard machine is scheduled for the second quarter of 2010. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

The scope of Metso’s delivery includes a rebuild of the press section with a SymBelt shoe press and a modernization of the sizer. The PM 1 press rebuild at the Ansan mill will be the fifth Metso SymBelt shoe press delivery to Dong Il Paper. PM 1 produces coated white top liner and linerboard in the basis weight range of 160 to 230 g/m2.

Dong Il Paper Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is a privately-owned paper company established in South Korea in 1986. The company has three paper machines producing various containerboard grades such as liner, testliner and corrugated medium.
