Nordland Papier AG starts up rebuilt PM 4

On September 1, 1999, Nordland Papier, Dorpen, Germany, started up a rebuild of its Valmet PM-4 fine paper machine at a speed of 1050 m/min.

PM-4 has a trim width of 9.5 m and was originally installed eight years ago to produce both coated and uncoated woodfree grades.

The rebuild was designed to increase the capacity of the machine and included an OptiFlo headbox, OptiFormer forming section and an OptiPress.
