UPM Rauma PM 4 sets a new world record

The Metso Paper supplied paper machine PM 4 at UPM Rauma mill in Finland has set a new world speed record. The paper making line ran at an average speed of 1881 m/min for a period of 24 hours, producing light-weight coated LWC paper with a basis weight ranging from 54 to 60 g/m2. The speed record was set on June 15-16, 2004, during normal production running.

The record-breaking machine was supplied by Metso Paper in 1998. The machine has a design speed of 1800 m/min and a wire width of 10,1 meters.
