These materials are sourced from either brine or hard-rock ore. Hard-rock ore processing involves a concentrator plant to produce a concentrate, which is then refined in a chemical plant. Brine processing starts in evaporation ponds or through direct lithium extraction (DLE), followed by chemical processing.
