Metso's reliable and high-performing valve solutions gain market share in geothermal business in Turkey

Metso has received totally 12 small or mid-sized orders from geothermal power providers in Turkey. Metso's delivery scope to the plants includes control and on-off valves, consisting of butterfly, globe, segment and ball valves ranging from 1" to 54" in size from the Neles® and Jamesbury® product portfolios. With Metso's valves the geothermal power plants can produce renewable energy efficiently and safely at a low cost and with a low impact on the environment.

Metso's wide valve offering and experience with pulp and paper processes brings major valve order for Stora Enso's mill project in Guangxi, China

Metso will supply altogether about one thousand valves for Stora Enso's consumer board machine project in Guangxi, China. To guarantee effective services for the new mill, Metso will also strengthen its service presence in the Guangxi area. The consumer board machine is part of Stora Enso's integrated mill project being implemented in two phases in China.

Metso's smart controllers on Goliat en route from Korea to the Barents Sea

Metso's stainless steel smart controllers were selected for close to 900 pneumatic actuated control, on-off and emergency shutdown (ESD) valves on the massive Goliat plant, which left the South Korean shipyard on Friday, February 13, 2015, for its home in the Barents Sea. The giant Eni Norge and Statoil owned Goliat floating, production, storage and off-loading (FPSO) plant is the first ever to equip all of its automated pneumatic valves with Metso's intelligent valve controllers to lower its operational and maintenance costs with predictive diagnostics.

Metso wins Aprimin's Annual Safety Award 2014 for the second year running

The Chilean mining suppliers' association Aprimin has awarded Metso with the Annual Safety Award 2014 in the Large Company category. Metso received this recognition for the second year running for its excellent performance in the prevention of occupational hazards. The award was granted on November 5, 2014, during the Association's annual gala in Santiago, Chile, attended by the Minister of Mines and major mining companies in the country.
