Sizing

Valmet’s sizer product family offers all application methods and all paper machine sizes available - spray, film and pond application and a new type of a sizer with hard nip rolls and curtain sizing. All sizers have a robust and modular construction combined with high functionality and quality with a low total cost of ownership. In surface sizing or size application, starch, or other types of size or pigmented size, is applied to the paper web surface to improve its strength, surface properties or water resistance. Sizing is often used to modify surface properties before coating.

IntelliSizer

The IntelliSizer improves paper properties such as strength and printing qualities by adding chemical substances to the paper web. The IntelliSizer family consists of three Size Press types: Pond, Metering, and Hybrid. The IntelliSizer is equipped with a carbon fiber application head. The Metering Size Press reduces or eliminates pond turbulence, poor pickup control, low solids concentration, sheet edge problems, higher after drying demand, uneven reel profiles, and additional sheet breaks. Jujo Thermal and Valmet celebrate 20 years of cooperation

Jujo Thermal, a subsidiary of Nippon Paper Industries, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of thermal papers used in various labels, tickets and receipts. At the Kauttua Mill in Southwestern Finland, Jujo Thermal operates two paper machines with two off-machine coaters and three winders to produce 70,000 tons of paper per year. To keep its production lines’ performance at an outstanding level, Jujo Thermal relies on Valmet's maintenance know-how – and has done so for 20 years.
