Metso strengthens its complete offering for mining customers by acquiring certain intellectual property rights related to Rexnord's Falk Mill Products business

Metso has acquired from the US-based company Rexnord Industries, LLC certain intellectual property rights related to Rexnord's Falk Mill Products business. The acquisition allows Metso to provide replacement gears and pinions for its customers utilizing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) drawings and specifications for mills and kilns purchased through Metso and certain other end users. The acquisition also includes some key Mill Products specialists to support the business. The value of the acquisition is not disclosed.

Metso will help Minera Esperanza mine in Chile to increase its daily throughput by 20,000 tons per day

The Minera Esperanza mine in Chile has decided to commence a project with Metso which targets to increase the mine's annual production of copper and gold by 15-20%. This will be done by installing a 20,000 ton per day (tpd) crushing and screening system which bypasses part of the mine's existing grinding circuit. The new plant is scheduled to start operations in 2015. There will be a site team of over 500 people during the peak phase of the project. The order, worth of around EUR 80 million, was booked in Mining and Construction's Q4 2013 orders received.

As part of its global expansion plan for its industry leading services center network, Metso is proud to announce plans to build a state-of-the-art service and repair facility in Mesa, Arizona, United States. Metso and Ferrostaal to boost Mauritania's loading capacity for iron ore with a new railcar dumper facility for SNIM

Following an international tender, Metso and the industrial service provider Ferrostaal Industrieanlagen GmbH, Germany (Ferrostaal) have been awarded a joint contract to build a railcar dumper facility for the iron ore producer Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière (SNIM) in the harbor of Nouadhibou, Mauritania. The value of the order will not be published.
