Challenges and solutions for molsieve dryer processes

Molecular sieves, or molsieves, are used in the refining and petrochemical process industries as adsorbents. They are mainly used in scenarios whereby very dry streams are required, helping to remove water and other oxygen sources to avoid catalyst deactivation and potential corrosion problems in the process plant. Hanchang Paper´s Yangsan mill in Korea chose Valmet Hydrocyclone SLP RC to improve the wax removal in their OCC line. The new pulp line is an expansion to the existing Guaíba pulp mill in Rio Grande do Sul state, south of Brazil. The new line has a capacity of 1.3 million tonnes per year and can be upgraded to reach 1.5 million tonnes per year with minor investments. This is an addition to the existing capacity of the mill of 500,000 tons per year.
