Intelligent recovery boiler leak detection

An innovative diagnostics application, the Valmet Recovery Boiler Leak Detector ensures boiler operators can detect even the smallest leaks with unprecedented precision. Advanced mass and chemical balance calculations are combined to achieve high leak detection reliability.

The detector can recognize a 0.25–0.50% difference between the feedwater and steam in the feedwater flow. Critical leaks are separately identified from non-critical leaks, and load changes as boiler load swings are taken into account to avoid false alarms.

The detector forms part of the Valmet recovery line control automation together with the Valmet Recovery Boiler Optimizer.
