Five for five with Henri Lahtinen

Today, we’re chatting with Henri, a dedicated product manager in our Valmet Automations team. From his early interest in technology to his passion for outdoor activities, Henri shares insights into his role and what motivates him both at work and in life.
As a relatively new team member, having started his Valmet journey at the end of August 2023, Henri works as a product manager in the Quality Management Solutions product group. He is responsible for overseeing several different quality measurements. Henri enjoys the variety of his role, and the most challenging aspect so far has been finding the best solution for each unique case. He also appreciates the great spirit in his team, where everyone supports each other and enjoys fun coffee breaks together.
1. Have you always been interested in technology?
Yes, I have been interested in technology and how things work since my childhood.
2. What motivates you?
Learning and mastering my role better and better. Solving a problem is very satisfying.
3. What do you like to do when you are not working?
Having children, a lot of my free time is dedicated to playing with them. If I find time for myself, I enjoy fishing, mountain biking, skiing, or walking in nature.
4. What is your favorite dish?
Sausages and coffee prepared on a campfire after a good fishing session in the wilderness. It helps me forget everyday troubles and relax.
5. If someone wanted to start getting to know you, what’s a good topic to start with?
Fishing is always a good way to start a discussion.
