Beyond Circularity: Manufacturing industrial-scale biocomposites

Valmet collaborated with nine other Finnish companies and the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in the co-innovation project called “High Performance Cellulose-based Composites” (HiPer) to study the use of biocomposites on an industrial scale.

Good progress in the Beyond Circularity program in 2023

More than 220 partners have joined our ecosystem, and fifteen ecosystem projects started in 2023, increasing the total number of ongoing projects to 22. Internally we have 91 R&D projects ongoing.

As part of its ambitious climate program, Valmet strives to reduce the CO2 emissions in its supply chain by 20 percent by 2030*. Our supplier network includes around 30,000 active suppliers in 60 countries around the world, and a significant impact on reaching the climate program target comes from engaging suppliers in climate action.  

New scholarships promote sustainability in pulp, paper and energy industries in China

Valmet’s social responsibility program supports selected local projects around the world for the wellbeing of society and the environment. In China, Valmet has set up new scholarships to postgraduate students in five industry universities together with the China Education Development Foundation (CEDF) with the theme “Towards the future with science”.

Beyond Circularity: CEBIPRO project to develop innovative analysis technologies for circular economy biorefineries

The main objective of the CEBIPRO project is to develop new knowledge, technologies, and competences for fiber ecosystems to optimize processing efficiency and product quality. The project is part of Valmet’s Beyond Circularity program.
